First Person View Drones

I design, build, fly, and race first person view (FPV) drones.

My FPV obsession began with modifying my old Hubsan X4. I designed and 3D printed custom frames, cracked into and recoded the STM32 flight controller with custom software, and most importantly added an FPV system.

At this stage of my FPV journey, I was making everything and anything work, because I was entirely broke. This forced me to get creative, and as a result, I learn a lot of really cool things. For example, how to build and tune an antenna, or how to custom wire gimbals from one controller on to another.

Eventually, I was able to earn more money, and upgrade my hardware. I started with 3" (propeller size) and quickly moved to 5".

I quickly found the limits of my very entry level drones, and started saving money. I build a super high end 5" freestyle/cinema drone, and soon after, a 7" long range cruiser.

Just before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, I took an interest in racing. I built a set of custom regulation-sized gates and a racing specific drone.

I started taking FPV racing pretty seriously. I built a fleet of drones, set up measured regulation courses for practice, and started attending big MultiGP races. At my peak, I was ranked 19th in the world.

Throughout my racing career, I was also flying freestyle FPV both for fun and commercially.

Recently, I have been using my FPV drones to chase drift cars at the track!
